Why The Diamond?
Over millions of years, a lump of carbon is transformed into something fit for the crown of a king…or the love of your life. Similarly, after countless hours of casting, coloring, and hand-finishing, a chunk of Portland Cement is transformed into a work of art fit for your home. In short, both the diamond and Eldorado Stone’s products are essentially humble and natural materials that are transformed, almost magically, into creations of beauty and value.
Eldorado Stone Corporation was founded in 1969 in Carnation, Washington. Company founder John Bennett’s unparalleled commitment to excellence and creative vision in the areas of product development, installation and manufacturing have all had a major impact on the growth of the architectural stone veneer industry and the ongoing success of Eldorado Stone.
Originally Bennett used a franchise base to grow the Eldorado Stone brand and at one time there were more than 25 franchises around the world, each with their own product lines and market share. But as the product category began to mature and the Eldorado brand became more predominant in the early 1990s, Bennett and some of his most successful franchisees saw that the timing was right to explore ways in which Eldorado could further strengthen its brand. In the year 2000 Eldorado Stone Corporation, StoneCraft Industries and Northwest Stone and Brick, another Eldorado Stone franchise, combined businesses forming a new company, Eldorado Stone LLC. Through a combination of franchise acquisitions and consolidation of manufacturing, product marketing and operational styles, we created stronger brand continuity.
In 2001, Eldorado Stone, LLC recapitalized and joined forces with Graham Partners, a financial partner. In April of 2004, Graham Partners sold its interest in Eldorado Stone to Headwaters Incorporated – (NYSE: HW); HW is focused on improving lives through innovative advancements in construction materials. Today, a consolidated and stronger Eldorado Stone has become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of architectural stone veneer. Eldorado Stone currently operates manufacturing facilities in several states with regional distribution centers across the U.S.
